Around the Raveen Kat habitats, the occasional chirps and chrrs of little things can be heard. Where you are currently in the humid jungle part it seems "little things" are particularly active. For instance, the winged one that has just buzzed itself into your face.
You reflexively swat the thing away - or try to, but its little wings give it amazing agility, and instead it hovers safely out of reach. It grins at your futile attempt at catching it, and laughs.
Astounded, you stare at the talking rodent. The talking rodent. Weren't mimics only fluent in their own language? ...Or was this not a mimic? Squinting at it, you give a tentative "Hi...?" And promptly feel stupid. Talking to a rodent, here...
"Hi," it chitters back. "I'm Panko." The thing whizzes around your head a couple times, inspecting you.
"Gah, stop it!" You shield your face and stumble away. "What are you?"
The thing pauses in front of your face and stares. "You've never seen a Jahrune before?" he asks, somehow showing surprise on hit tiny face.
You shake your head and try to grab him out of the air, unnerved by his evasive capabilities... Unfortunately, you miss and as he chrrs a reprimand at you, he flies away.
Still uncomprehending of your recent interaction with what seemed to be a flying mouse, you shake your head and continue on your path.
